The countdown is on...

Until Christmas holidays that is. Christopher and I are really looking forward to heading home to Manitoba for the holidays. Chris will be done his final exams on December 12th and Lord willing the weather will be good and we'll head home right afterwards. Chris' brother Gary and his wife Honey and nephew Ganon will be celebrating the holidays with us this year! It will be so wonderful to spend Christmas with them. Here's our picture from last year.

Can't wait to post an updated picture from this year!

That'll be nice for you to come home. Do you miss it here? I still remember when you made a smoothie at your apartment on Pembina, and Melissa and I were salivating over your culinary delight. LOL! That was a LONG time ago, when Mel roomed with you that one summer.

Wow, those are a lot of presents! I'm not sure if you remember me, but I met you a couple times way back when Melissa lived with you. I now live in Yellowknife with my husband and 19 month old daughter Rebecca. Melissa told me about what you were going through with your little angel Eden, and my heart went out to you. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a child, but I do know what it's like to have hopes and dreams for your child that end up being totally different than expected. Our daughter Rebecca is handicapped and will never walk or talk, but God had her life mapped out before she was even born, just as He chose to take Eden back up to Heaven before her earthly life could start. You can check out my blog to see pictures of my little Sweetie if you'd like.

I do really miss Winnipeg and all of my family and friends! It was great fun having Mel as a roommate that one summer. I definitely do remember you Monika. I've seen Rebecca's picture posted on Melissa's fridge and she shared your story. From one mom to another, life definitely has a way of being everything you don't expect. I loved Eden from the moment we knew she was conceived and that love has only grown. Having a child that requires special attention is reserved by God for those with extrodinary hearts. He knows best and as tough as the challenges are, he's there with us every step of the way. Knowing Eden is safe in Heaven is what gets me through day to day.
